Let go already
“You must not fear, hold back, count or be a miser with your thoughts and feelings. It is also true that creation comes from an overflow, so you have to learn to intake, to imbibe, to nourish yourself and not be afraid of fullness. The fullness is like a tidal wave which then carries you, sweeps you into experience and into writing.

Permit yourself to flow and overflow, allow for the rise in temperature, all the expansions and intensifications. Something is always born of excess: great art was born of great terrors, great loneliness, great inhibitions, instabilities, and it always balances them. If it seems to you that I move in a world of certitudes, you, par contre, must benefit from the great privilege of youth, which is that you move in a world of mysteries. But both must be ruled by faith.”
Anais Nin
“There needs to…
“There needs to be a purpose to education. If you can get your students to understand why they need to learn something, and then apply it to their life, then education becomes a meaning to life.”
-Mark Gadsden

others have heard this story before, the parts i chose to tell, about my attraction to an older man, love letters, and the magical spoken words we exchanged in those days.but they heard it when events still lacked coherence; and they found the tale romantic, moving, even outrageous. i am retelling it today to insinuate into those random seeming events some kind of significance – so that others can recognise that the romance was not the story but a young woman’s craving for intensity beyond intelligent survival, her fear of dullness, and comfort; her predisposition to a certain kind of life.
so begins a book i just began to read. it might as well be me talking about myself in a few years, so well do i identify with the fear of mediocrity and ‘settling down’.

“i have heard the mermaids singing, but i know they do not sing for me.”
reality is painful enough for most people, and the schizophrenic is rubbing up against that brick wall. alcohol and drugs can be used lubricate their relationship with reality, says Conrad Fischer.
alcoholcs may not be scizophrenics, but schizophrenics may be alcoholics. remember to look for substance abuse in mental disorders.
